The Sousapower SP 8 is based on the classic RT-88+ design, and uses the same cup, rim, and throat.  The major difference is that the SP8 uses a smaller, American shank as well as a different backbore.  This design creates a more brilliant sound and gives the player more control when using the mouthpiece.
